The public got its first look at the new 17-thousand square foot Emergency Department at Geneva General Hospital during an open house Saturday (6/15/13). Finger Lakes Health CEO Dr. Jose Acevedo credited the efforts of Finger Lakes Health's Board of Directors, the community and local first responders, who got their own tour Friday.

State Senator Michael Nozzolio secured a 750-thousand dollar grant from the state Dormitory Authority to enable the new ED. He said quality health care is the cornerstone of quality of life.

The new ED represents Phase One of Finger Lakes Health's 56-million dollar "Journey to the Best" project. It opens for business Tuesday.
