Football sectionals are underway and Sunday morning’s edition of the Bren Zone features two of the area’s winning coaches from this past weekend - Canandaigua’s Jeff Welch and Red Jacket’s Marc Vitticore.
Canandaigua won what could be the game of the year in Section V with a 28-27 overtime win in the fog over Victor in the Class A Quarterfinals on Friday night. The #6 seeded Braves will face #2 Brockport next Friday night in the Class A semifinals at Sahlens Stadium in Rochester.
Red Jacket, meanwhile, held on to beat Letchworth, 20-14, on Saturday afternoon in the Class DD semifinals. The top seeded Indians will face #2 Avon next Saturday night at Sahlen’s Stadium in the Class DD championship game.
Jeff Michaels will be hosting in studio and Brendan will be checking in live from Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park to preview Bills/Titans. He and Hank Gola of the New York Daily News will break down all the rest of the Week 7 NFL action including Giants/Redskins and Jets/Patriots. Brendan will also have his Cover 3 picks against the spread. So far he’s lit it up with a 12-6 record picking NFL games against the spread.
