It’s a huge sports weekend in the Finger Lakes and the Bren Zone is the place for upstate New Yorkers to hear about the teams they care about.
We're heavy on the Syracuse Orange, as Jim Mandelaro of the Democrat and Chrnonicle joins us to talk about the football team's manhandling of #9 Louisville Saturday at the Dome, while Mike Waters of the Syracuse Post-Standard joins us live from San Diego to preview the basketball game against San Diego State aboard the U.S.S. Midway. The game was moved from Friday to Sunday because of the fear of inclement weather. He’ll also share his thoughts about the news that the feds have ended their investigation of sexual abuse allegations against former Syracuse assistant coach Bernie Fine. Special Counsel to the Bren Zone Jason Benetti will also weigh in on Fine and recap the state football playoff games he called this weekend on Time Warner.
We’ll preview Week 10 in the NFL as the Bills travel to Foxboro to take on the Patriots, the Giants visit the Bengals, and the Jets travel cross country to battle the Seahawks. Brendan will try to keep the good times rolling with his Cover 3 picks against the spread as he puts his 18-9 record on the line.
We’ll also talk with William Smith College Athletic Director Deb Steward as the school gets ready to host the Division III field hockey championships next weekend.
The Bren Zone, hosted by Brendan Harrington, airs every Sunday morning from 9-11 on Finger Lakes News Radio and fingerlakesdailynews.com If you can’t listen live, you can listen anytime on demand at brenharrington.podbean.com
