Join the Onondaga Lake Conservation Corps on Saturday, November 15 from 10 am – 12 pm for a hands-on lesson in starting your own native plants from seed! We will provide a brief lesson inside the NYSDEC Onondaga Lake Visitors Center to learn about the benefits of planting native plants, how to responsibility collect seeds, and how to germinate seeds. After we cover the basics, we’ll take a short trip to the Pollinator Garden to search for seeds. Everyone will have the opportunity to collect native seeds from our pollinator garden and take seeds home to put their new skills to the test. We look forward to opening up our pollinator garden to the community, and giving everyone the opportunity to plant more natives plants for birds and other wildlife. Fee: $10/adult, $5/child. Space is limited and registration is required. Online reservations are available at https://www.audubon.org/OLCC or click https://act.audubon.org/a/growing-native-plants-from-seed-saturday-november-15-10-am-12-pm.
