UPDATE: Sheriff Closes Search for Missing Waterloo Man

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that the missing person case for 66-year-old Mark Taggerty of Waterloo has been officially closed.

Taggerty was last seen on Monday after leaving his job at Frazier Industrial on Waterloo–Geneva Road around 9 a.m. Deputies say he was reportedly walking eastbound along Route 5 & 20 toward the Village of Waterloo. Officials had described his disappearance as occurring under “suspicious conditions.”

The Sheriff’s Office thanked several agencies and organizations for their assistance during the investigation, including Frazier Industries, Waterloo Fire Department, Waterloo Police Department, Seneca Falls Police Department, Seneca County Probation, and the Seneca County Crisis Intervention Team.

Authorities also expressed gratitude to members of the public who provided tips and volunteered their time. Out of respect for Taggerty’s family and friends, no further information will be released.
