A Penn Yan woman is facing weapons possession charges following a reported disturbance in the village.
Police say 31-year-old Kellie Wagner allegedly threatened another resident with a hatchet during an argument and kicked in a bedroom door.
She was charged with menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Wagner was processed at the Penn Yan Police Department before being taken to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment and for an order of protection to be issued.
Authorities did not release additional details about the incident.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
