The Rochester Red Wings’ downtown stadium will soon have a new name. Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and team officials announced Tuesday that the facility will be renamed ESL Ballpark. Approval was granted Tuesday night by the Monroe County Legislature.
The change comes through a new partnership with ESL Federal Credit Union, a Rochester-based financial institution that has served the region since 1920. ESL provides personal and business banking services throughout Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes and has a long history of community investment.
Red Wings President and CEO Naomi Silver said the naming rights reflect shared values between the team and ESL. “ESL Ballpark represents everything we value about baseball in Rochester, community, tradition, and long-term commitment,” Silver said, adding that ESL has been a trusted partner of the organization for years.
ESL President and CEO Faheem Masood said the credit union has supported the Red Wings for more than three decades and sees the ballpark as a place that brings people together across generations. He called the naming agreement a natural extension of that support.
Bello said the partnership highlights the role of public-private collaboration in strengthening the region and keeping the downtown stadium a community gathering place.
